High Performance Plastics & Additives

Solvay Specialty Polymers

Solvay is the industry leader in specialty polymers, offering the broadest selection of high-performance thermoplastic resins, fluoroelastomers, and fluorinated fluids. The combination of Solvay’s expansive portfolio and polymer expertise helps engineers solve the world’s toughest design challenges in automotive, batteries, smart devices, consumer goods, building and construction, healthcare, oil and gas, and other demanding industries.

Specialty polymers are characterized by their ability to retain desirable mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties when subjected to harsh environments, such as high temperature, high pressure, and corrosive chemicals. Depending on the product, they also offer biocompatibility, fatigue and wear resistance; flame retardant properties, corrosion protection, electrical inertness, and dimensional stability.

Vamp Tech Advanced Modified Polymers

VAMP TECH offers modified compounds based on a wide range of base polymers : PS, ABS, PP, POM, PC, alloys, PBT, PA6, PA66 and resins for high temperature application such as PPE, PPS, PPA and PEEK.

In particular, the Research & Development of VAMP TECH is specialized, with a strong know how, in flame-retarded products. For each base resin, with the exception of POM, formulations were developed with all kinds of flame-retardant additives available in the market: halogens, halogen free, intumescent, red and inorganic phosphorus.

Finally VAMP TECH is available to develop tailor-made solutions for its customers having additional requirements and offers customized products which meet specific project specifications.

ViviOn™ Cyclic Block Copolymers (CBCs)

ViviOn™ is a family of novel cyclic block copolymers (CBCs), which are fully hydrogenated polymers based on styrene and conjugated dienes via anionic polymerization. This advanced material has remarkable thermal stability, excellent UV durability, extra-high transparency, low water absorption, low density and superb purity.

These features offer the users of ViviOn™ with superior design flexibility, easy processing capability and low life-cycle costs. In addition, the flexibility of tailoring polymer micro-structure by adjusting the ratio of poly(cyclohexylethylene) (PCHE) and ethylene-co-1-butene (EB) provides ViviOn™ a wide range of properties from rigid plastics to soft elastomers.

Yparex®

The Yparex® portfolio consists of a full range of high-quality, high-tech tie-layer resins, coupling agents and compatibilizers, that meet the demanding needs of customers in a broad range of application areas.

Based on maleic anhydride-(MAH)-modified and functionalized polyolefin compounds, Yparex® extrudable adhesive tie-layer resins provide outstanding adhesion between all forms of polyolefin-based resins and other materials including metals (aluminium, steel, and copper) and barrier plastics (polyamides (nylons) and ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH)).

Yparex® resins are widely used in numerous application areas and industries: multilayer packaging films (e.g. barrier films for food packaging, industrial films with oxygen barrier, and medical packaging), building & construction, PV modules and compatibilizers and coupling agents for the compounding industry.

Exxelor™ modifiers

Exxelor™ modifiers are used to enhance the performance of a variety of engineered thermoplastics and other technical polymers. They are based on functionalized elastomeric and polyolefinic polymers and are produced through reactive extrusion.

With Exxelor modifiers, characteristics such as resistance to impact at low temperature, improved homogeneity and surface aspects in filled compounds can be advanced compared with untreated materials.

Shinepoly® anti-dripping additive (ADA/ADP)

Shinepoly™ is a series of chemically modified PTFE granular added into thermoplastic compound to enhanced anti-dripping property to meet UL 94 V0 and V1 standard. It has excellent dispersion properties and does not easily agglomerate at room temperature. The parts molded with Shinepoly display better surface appearance. We have PFOA free anti-dripping agent.

Rheopoly®PPA polymer processing aid (PPA)

Rheopoly®PPA are series of fluoropolymer-based processing aids. It can improve the process of thermoplastic extrusion, especially in low MI liner polyolefin (LLDPE, HDPE and m-PE).

Matrix Series

Matrix Series – Specialized Polymer Additive that remove injection moulding part warpage and reduce cycle time. Watch video to find out more.

Tapioplast (Thermoplastic Starch)

TAPIOPLAST®a starch plastic, which is especially designed for compounding with PBAT and/or PLA to produce bio-shopping bags and bio-mulch film products at a competitive cost to provide better performances.

Bioplastic film containing TAPIOPLAST® at recommendation level can be produced by conventional blown film extrusion. Masterbatch resins and other additives can be blended during processing. After production, the films will present good film strength e.g. tensile modulus, tensile strength, and elongation. For biodegradability, the products using TAPIOPLAST® can be completely biodegraded by natural microorganisms.

The bio-shopping bag will be degraded by a faster rate and it will play an important role in solving plastic waste problems. For the bio-mulch film, it can be degraded in the soil after crop without deterioration of soil structure which leads to no adverse effect on agricultural productivity.
